Apophysis 7x.16 Questions and Answers:

Naviretlav: Will the Apophysis Parameter Locator and the Preview Utility be integrated into the new Version of Apophysis 7X?

Xyrus-02: Apophysis 7X.16 will use the render engine of the Preview Utility. The Apophysis Parameter Locator will remain independent.

Naviretlav: For the Preview Utility, I think more about integration with the clipboard and the ability to show a popup window when there is a new flame in the clipboard while Apophysis is closed.
And what about file previews in Windows Explorer?

Xyrus-02: I don't think so for the first point. The second one seems realistic.

Naviretlav: Can we expect the new version during the next two months?

Xyrus-02: I cannot tell that. I have a life, still So let's just say "when it's done" - as always. You can monitor the progress using the screenshots I upload at xyrus02.deviantart.com/ and in my blog at blog.xyrus-worx.net/

Naviretlav: For me, it would be nice if you could release everything what is done so far and existing bugfixes named "Version 16" - the big changes you could keep for version 17

Xyrus-02: There will be an intermediate version. It'll just contain bugfixes, though.

Naviretlav: I have subscribed to your blog just now.

Xyrus-02: Thank you I'm going to write an article in it soon, explaining the technical details of the web-based plugin repository.

Naviretlav: By the way - it would be nice to get some kind of plugin web database browser (with example previews) inside Apophysis for downloading them and a tool for uploading own plugins.

Xyrus-02: Previews probably won't happen. You will be able to add plugins using a web-interface - allthough I would prefer to have it moderated for security reasons (malware)
You will also not upload the DLL files but the C files. They are going to be compiled and provided when they are approved by a moderator.

Naviretlav: Do you have plans for changing the plugin architecture and maybe also the format or extension (.adp - Apophysis DLL plugin, for example)?

Xyrus-02: No. They will remain DLL files internally. The extension will be BIN in the local plugin cache however. This for compatibility to older Apophysis versions - it does not apply to Metaphysis.

You can improvise and add some background , and textures to shape.
You can use any plugins/variations you like including 3D versions.
You can use any resources and scripts.

You can entry this contest using other fractal software, only for fun - you can't win
( best works will be featured in my journal )
